i do very few engagement shoots. many of my couples end up swapping them for extra books or hours on the day or whatnot so it’s rare for me to have a gorgeous, loved-up couple in front of my lens and not be stressing about the encroaching weather or fading light or any of the considerations during a wedding day.
not only did i have the luxury of time as we drifted unhurriedly through some of my favourite local spots, but kristin and ettiene were more than happy to just enjoy each other as if i wasn’t even there. i use engagement photos as a time to teach my clients how to not-pose for me but these two already had it down. there was none of the awkwardness or embarrassment of the first time you have to make-out in front of a stranger’s camera. they were relaxed and easy, making my job a breeze.
and considering i started the shoot by mistaking one of the kaiser chief players for the car guard outside their hotel, the day could only get less awkward and embarrassing from there.
