destination weddings are by far and away my favorite. it’s not only the chance to indulge in my love of travel, but i revel in working with the people that populate the events. not only the intrepid bride and groom but also their closest friends are bound to be quality. when your guests have to rsvp by getting inoculated, you know they love you.
elena and steve are adored. their 50+ closest and best spent the week in just revelling in the sun, sea and each others company. after a tumultuous start to 2013, ‘wedding camp’ was the perfect reminder to these two that their little tribe will see them through thick and thin.
i couldn’t help but love everything about this wedding. from a technical view i had the perfect light, amazing setting and a ridiculously photogenic couple. but the rest of the week was amazing, it feeds my soul to watch my son take his first steps on a foreign beach, to eat shrimp tacos, to dance with luke under the stars and to be so warmly welcomed into steve and elena’s close knit circle, which is tight but always has room for a few more.
oh, and also there was the personal highlight of my photographic career a few days later right here…
