sometimes a shoot doesn’t go quite as expected. i don’t meticulously plan shoots, but i have a rough mental map of where to go, what sort of shots to try and a few posing ideas for blank moments. i was lucky with jenny and colin that they were game for anything. unfortunately for them, i asked them to get into a perilous position that ended up with both of them falling hard into the rock-pools. that wasn’t part of the plan, to get my subjects soaked, cold, sore and bleeding.
i had a little panic attack in my head at this disaster of a shoot that had just ended halfway through. not to mention my new clients whose trust i had just shattered. but i underestimated these two joburgers, they took a minute to assess the damage and proceeded to giggle as they brushed drenched hair out of each others eyes. i breathed out.
as they easily laughed it off, i was instantly more excited for their farm wedding later this month. we are guaranteed to have an amazing wedding day if they can keep laughing at all the things that go wrong.
