a good story is my weakness. i love to hear one, and i love to tell one. when someone asks us ‘how did you meet?’, i just look over at luke and see that twinkle in his eye before he starts with ‘well, we met in this little town in uganda. she needed a lift to kenya…’
as a photographer i’m privileged with the task of capturing my couple’s unique tale. as much as art and imagery move me, i’m forever in love with words and story.
i’m amazed by the power of a great story to transport and inspire. but maybe that’s why i chose photography, because a picture is worth a thousand words and i’m too lazy to write a whole book word for word.
so if there were ever a wedding theme that could resonate with me it would have to be literary. megan and paul seamlessly mixed great love stories in with their day because their own story intermingles with the best. the thoughtful details in the decor grew from her love of literature and his love for her. she is an avid reader, a lover of words, and, fittingly: an english teacher. he is the proud owner of some truly hilarious poetry she wrote to him at the tender age of 15. together these two fantastic characters have an incredible story spanning a decade and including not one but two serendipitous encounters with their soul-mate.
collisheen estate lent the perfect vintage touch to the culmination of their romance and it was a pleasure to get to help narrate their story through my lens for a day.
